MERRIMACK, N.H. — A memorial service was held at the Rivet Funeral Home on July 21 for James Norman Belon, 75, who passed away at his home on July 18.
Jim was born on Sept. 27, 1937 in Leechburgh, Penn., son of the late John and Rose (Patrick) Belon.
Jim graduated from Leechburgh High School in Pennsylvania and attended college in Rome, N.Y. He served in the Air Force for more than four years and spent time in Okinawa, Japan as part of his service. Jim’s career included various management positions at Montgomery Ward’s and Grossmans.
Jim enjoyed playing and watching golf. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed nature photography.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janet (Scerra) Belon; two daughters, Julie Belon of Stratham, N.H. and Jill Leavitt, Dan Leavitt, son-in-law, of East Barnard; two grandchildren, Katie and Ben Leavitt of East Barnard; a brother, John Belon, Janice Belon, sister-in-law of Mentor, Ohio, and a sister, Judy McTighe of Northfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jim’s memory to The National Kidney Foundation or the Diabetes Foundation.
