NEW LONDON, N.H. — A Mass will be celebrated today July 11 at Our Lady of Fatima Church in New London for Patricia (Fowler) DeForest, 78, who died July 5 at her home.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Penn., on Jan. 18, 1935, daughter of James and Ruby (Griffith) Fowler.
Pat attended the University of Pittsburgh and had been an administrative assistant for NatWest in Norwalk, Conn. She moved to New London in 1997, previously living in Wilton, Conn. from 1978-1997.
She and her first husband, Michael Ward, owned and operated Ski and Racquet Shop in Ridgefield, Conn. for many years.
Pat was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in New London, the Women’s Society and was very active with Kearsarge Area Council on Aging. Always sociable and friendly, she worked at the Information Booth for the Chamber of Commerce soon after arriving in town. Pat was a member of the New London Hospital Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed staying busy and had also worked at the Renaissance Shop for the Lake Sunapee Region Visiting Nurse Association.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Derek and Linda Ward of Barnard and her daughter, Kimberly Ward of Woodstock.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard DeForest.
