HARTFORD — There will be a private service for family members only for Peter Rheuby, born in Philadelphia, Pa. on April 8, 1941, who passed away suddenly in his home on July 23.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Drs. Philip and Genève May and Virginia Rheuby. Peter leaves behind a sister, Margaret Rheuby Park of Green Valley, Ariz.; his children, Sandy Bloom of Sedona, Ariz., Adele Rheuby (Brad) Underhill of White River Jct., Amy Rheuby (Gene) Tibbit’s of White River Jct., Kevin Rheuby of La Punte, Calif; and his step-daughter, Tammy Maldonado (Jerry) Parra of Chino, Calif. Peter also leaves his grandchildren, Frankie, Nicole, Bethany and Noah and several nieces and nephews.
Peter grew up in the Philadelphia, Pa., and the Woodstock area.
After a short career in the Navy he became an iron worker/welder and worked on many challenging projects from Vermont to California. After retiring from Disney as a welder Peter spent several years as a bi-coastal resident. Besides his children Peter was most proud of his accomplishment in writing and having published a novel.
Peter spent the majority of his life in California, where he had many close friends and family. Peter was welcomed home by Maria, Gilbert, Emilio and Molly Zazueta. Throughout his life Peter enjoyed collecting treasures, writing and drawing, watching football, visiting casinos and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Peter is loved by many and will be deeply missed.
