A young teenage girl who was crossing Route 4 on foot collided with a pickup truck at the intersection with Cox District Road Friday evening while the fireworks display was underway right across the street at the high school.
The accident happened around 9:45 p.m. and a Woodstock Ambulance crew who was providing standby coverage at the festivities rushed to her aid and transported her to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center where her condition was not immediately available Friday evening.
Woodstock Police Sgt. Peter Mantello said the male driving the red Ford F-150 pickup that hit the girl was a local resident with a junior operator’s license and he also sustained injuries in the collision but they were minor so he was treated at the scene and released.
The Woodstock Police Department is continuing their investigation into the accident.
