This evening, Thursday, the Clark Commons Market is hosting an exciting new Chamber Ensemble, featuring talent from all over Vermont, the Five Corners String Quintet will be performing at 5:30.
“On the program will be Antonin Dvorak’s op 77 String Quintet, arguably one of the most beautiful string pieces from the romantic period, Giovanni Bottesini’s seldom performed Gran Quintetto, and (Berlin VT’s composer) Paul Perley’s new jazz-based piece Bass Dance.”
Musicians perform for a pass of the hat, so please come prepared to contribute something.
If you haven’t yet visited the Clark Commons Market at the Clark Farm, this beautiful spot tucked among the fields is the new site for the Fable Farm CSA Pick-up, and hosts a Farmers Market featuring some great Barnard-based vendors, including Heartwood Farm and Carin’s Kombucha, Eastman Farm Beef, Kiss the Cow’s milk and eggs, Down to Earth Confections, and Green Mountain Pasta. Vegetables from Heartwood Farm and Fable Farm can be purchased a la carte and a membership to Fable Farm’s CSA is not necessary to shop. The market runs every Thursday from 4:30-7:30.
Markets also feature potlucks, and people are welcome to bring a dish and enjoy the company of neighbors and the sweet sounds of music in the hills. If you choose to dine, please bring your own plates and cutlery.
Fable Farm, Heartwood Farm, Kiss the Cow, and Eastman Farm are hosting this market, and currently cooperatively sharing use of the land at the Clark Farm. Thanks to the generous support of people in town to keep this beautiful farm from being developed, the group will have the option to purchase the land from the Vermont Land Trust in the coming years.
