LENA, Wis.— The memorial service for Brett Michael Marquardt, 22, who died suddenly on Aug. 31, will be held Sat., Sept. 14 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, located on Main Street in Norwich, from the hours of 9:30 a.m.- 12 noon.
He was born on March 21, 1991 in Lena, son of Ronda and Leo Marquardt.
He attended Hartland Elementary School, Enfield Elementary School, Indian River School, and Mascoma High School.
He played Lebanon youth football and loved skateboarding, snowboarding, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed walking through the woods for hours on end.
At age 11, he won first prize for the best-shaped pumpkin at West Lebanon Supply.
He enjoyed spending quality time with his brothers. Throughout life, he made it a point to stop and smell the roses.
Brett is survived by his parents, Ronda and Leo Marquardt; two brothers, Charles Bowen and Brandon Marquardt; a nephew, Leo Boutin-Marquardt; his grandmothers, Nancy Scott and Marie Marquardt; several aunts, uncles, and cousins from Vermont, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin.
He was predeceased by grandfathers, Douglas Bowen and Melvin Marquardt.
In lieu of flowers, guests are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to the family for donation to the skate park.
