HANOVER — A Hartland woman who was working at the Hanover Inn has been arrested and charged in connection with a pair of incidents that occurred at the hotel earlier this month and in August.

Krista Rogers, 21, was arrested Friday in Hanover and charged with forgery, theft, and an attempt to commit theft before she was eventually released on $15,000 bail from the district courthouse in Lebanon.

Hanover Police were first notified of a problem on Sept. 8 when a woman who had been a guest at the Inn reported that several pieces of jewelry, including a gold Tiffany bracelet, had been taken from her purse while it had been in her guest room the previous evening.

Detectives said they uncovered evidence that led them to suspect Rogers and on Friday, Sept. 13, with the assistance of the Lebanon Police Department they served a search warrant at Twin State Coins and Treasures in the Colonial Plaza that led to the recovery of the missing Tiffany bracelet.

Police said the August incident involved an alleged attempt by Rogers to steal an undisclosed amount of money.
