BURLINGTON — Memorial services will be held Thursday, Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. in the First Congregational Church for Michael H. Harlow, 71, who died peacefully on Sept. 6 at the Vermont Respite House. The family will greet friends follow the service. A committal service and burial with military honors will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. If you wish, please ride your motorcycle.
He was born in West Windsor on Jan. 10, 1942, the son of the late Leigh R. Harlow, Sr. and Francelia (Sargent) Harlow.
He was a graduate of Woodstock Union High School and East Coast Aero Technical School. Following his graduation from the Aero Technical School, Michael enlisted in the Air Force and served a tour in Vietnam.
In 1976, Michael married Victoria “Vickie” Martin in the First Congregational Church.
Mike was employed as an aircraft mechanic for several years and retired from Pratt and Whitney Engine Services in 2007.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Burlington, the West Windsor Historical and HOG.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie, their son, Seth (Andrea) daughter Ann Margaret, grandsons, Alex and Zachary, and soon to be born granddaughter Ayanna, a brother Leigh R. Harlow, Jr. and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father when he was five years old, his mother Francelia, and stepfather, Howard W. Burns, Jr.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to The Vermont Respite House, 99 Allenbrook Road, Williston, 05495 or the South Woodstock Fire Department, Route 106, South Woodstock, 05071.
