Woodstock got more of a battle than expected in a 48-23 win against Winooski at home Friday.

Winooski took the opening kickoff and methodically drove 80 yards in 15 plays, chewing up 7 minutes of the clock and scoring on a halfback option pass from Kyle Bigelow to Andrew Decarreau.

Woodstock trailed 7-0 after the first quarter, but responded with four second quarter touchdowns to lead 27-7 at the half.

The Wasps (5-0) never looked back.
