CLAREMONT, N.H. — A Mass of Christian burial will be held today (Thursday, Nov. 7) at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church in Claremont for Mieczyslaw “Mike” Staszkiewicz, 92, of Claremont, formerly of Enfield, N.H. who died Nov. 2 at the Sullivan County Nursing Home in Unity. Rev. Father George Majka, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Hartland Cemetery.
He was born in Mala Myca, Poland on Dec. 24, 1920, the son of Wladyshaw and Konstancia Staszkiewicz.
Mieczyslaw was a tailor and had worked for Champion’s Clothing and Serry’s Clothing, both in Hanover.
He loved gardening, politics and especially his grandchildren.
He is the widow of Genowefa Staszkiewicz, whom he married on June 16, 1946, and she died on Sept. 5, 2006.
The family includes four sons, Longin and his wife Nancy of Sunapee, N.H., Tadeusz R. and his wife Grazyna of Claremont, Krzysztof C. of Manchester, N.H., and Andrzej N. and his wife Patty of Goffstown, N.H.; four grandchildren, Wojtek, Katarzyna, Adam and Caitlin; one brother-in-law, Longin Ambros and his wife, Melissa of Hartland; nieces, nephews and cousins.
