November 27, 2013

in Killington

The Town of Killington has completed its final repair project from Tropical Storm Irene. The new Ravine Road Bridge will open to traffic on Wednesday, November 27th.

The new 38-foot poured concrete span replaces a pipe arch culvert that was severely damaged in the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Irene. The comprehensive construction project included the installation of the bridge and its components, road reconstruction, repairs of various washouts, bank stabilization and stream grading. The Town managed the project, which was executed by Markowski Construction with engineering by Enman Kesselring Consulting.

The total cost of the Ravine Road Bridge Project came in at approximately $425,000, with a portion of the expense covered by FEMA and additional State of Vermont reimbursements. The majority of costs were paid for by the Town.
