A Killington man was arrested Sunday for allegedly hitting and killing a 26-year-old New Hampshire man with his car.

Kyle Wilson, 26, of Enfield, N.H. was found dead on the side of Mountainview Road at Killington Road around 11 a.m. Sunday by state police. After investigation, Vermont State Police identified Michael DeBellis, 27, of Killington, as the operator of the vehicle that struck Wilson. DeBellis, whose car had extensive front end and front passenger side damage, was taken into custody and charged with careless and negligent operation and leaving the scene of an accident with death resulting. He was transported to Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility and lodged for lack of $25,000 bail.

He is scheduled to appear in Rutland Criminal Court at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
