ORANGE, N.H. — A funeral will be held at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon, N.H. on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. for Charles C. Barnum, 82, who passed away on Jan. 19 at Hanover Terrace. Family and friends are invited to calling hours at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 24 from 5-7 p.m. A committal service will be announced in the spring.
He attended Canaan High School only to go straight into the army where he served in the Korean War.
He retired from Mascoma High School in 1993 after working there since 1963.
He was married on Dec. 17, 1957 and leaves behind his wife of 56 years; Frances Barnum and their son, Richard, and wife, Lee as well as their daughters, Jessica and Emily Barnum of Taftsville; a daughter Linda Bartlett of Hopkinton, N.H. and children Jeremy, his wife Missy Bartlett of Claremont, N.H., Jamie Bartlett of Canaan, N.H., great-granddaughter, Addison of Canaan, N.H., step-granddaughters, Missy Waysville of Ludlow, Lisa Ewing of Tinmouth and Vanessa Beach of Windsor; two sisters Ida Tucker of Pittsfield, Mass., and Marguerite Bliss and brother-in-law Clint of Canaan, N.H., as well as several nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, pony pulling, Rangeley Maine, and spending summers at camp in Pittsburg.
