The Town of Killington has hired Kristin Hagenbarth as its new director of Parks and Recreation. The announcement was made this week by Town Manager Seth Webb.
In her new role, Hagenbarth will be responsible for organizing and promoting year-round recreation activities for the Town. She will also oversee the administration and management of the Recreation Center, pool, fields, parks and other recreation facilities within the community. She will also work closely with the Parks and Recreation Commission to establish philosophy, policies and long range planning for the department.
A 2012 graduate of Saint Michael’s College with a concentration in Early Education, Hagenbarth currently works as a Para educator at Woodstock Union High School in the Academic Resource Center. Her experience working with youth also includes managing the After School Program at Woodstock Elementary School, coaching soccer at Woodstock High, and serving as the Head Camp Counselor for Killington’s Loads of Fun Day Camp Program last summer.
Town Manager Seth Webb says the Town received a dozen applications for the job, and Killington resident Hagenbarth was the top choice. “Kristin rose to the top of the list. She has strong credentials for the position and is highly motivated and organized. We expect she will shine in this new role.”
“The Town of Killington has a thriving Parks and Recreation Department for a community of this size,” says Parks and Recreation Commission member Betsey Bianchi. “Kristin brings experience and passion to the job, and will be a real asset in developing parks and recreation services and programs.”
Hagenbarth started her new job Jan. 23. For more information about the Town of Killington’s Department of Recreation and Parks, visit www.killingtontown.com.
