Police: Vt. Man Arrested, Stole Meat In Killington

An intoxicated man was arrested for refusing to leave the Killington Grand Hotel property and attempting to kick and headbutt State Police on multiple occasions, according to the police.

State Police said they were called after Jeff Wood, 24, of Castleton, refused to leave the the Killington Grand property. Upon State Police arrival, Wood became combative and assaultive to the police.

Further investigation revealed Wood stole two legs of ham and about seven pounds of bison meat from the Killington Grand kitchen. He was subsequently transported to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks where he continued to be uncooperative, assaultive and combative during transport. He was then lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Center for $20,000 bail and charged with disorderly conduct, larceny, resisting arrest and assault to a police officer.
