The opening ceremonies for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia haven’t kicked off yet, but one Olympic competitor has already made the finals in her event.
Jamie Anderson, daughter of Hartland resident Lauren Anderson, qualified for the finals of the women’s slopestyle competition Thursday. Anderson qualified in second place after a score of 93.5 on her first run. She did not attempt a second run.
The slopestyle final is scheduled for Sunday at 1:15 p.m. EST.
This is the first year of the slopestyle competition, which features different obstacles like rails, quarterpipes and jumps.
