WHITE RIVER JCT. — A graveside memorial service will be held later this spring at the Branch View Cemetery in South Royalton for Grace E. Boyce, 80, who died Feb. 1 at her home in White River Jct. There will be no public calling hours.
She was born July 9, 1933 in Hanover, N.H., the daughter of Horace Alonzo and Elsie Grace (Hawley) Sawyer.
She attended school in Hartland and later attended Windsor High School.
On March 29, 1951, she married Stanley J. Boyce of Tunbridge. They lived in Hartland before moving to White River Jct. Grace and her husband Stanley owned and operated Mr. B’s Diner in Hartford. They sold the business in 1984 due to ill health. Stanley died July 5, 2011.
Grace enjoyed spending time with her family; collecting crystals; baking and enjoyed being a pogo enthusiast.
She is survived by a son, Stanley Boyce Jr. of White River Jct.; four daughters, Katrina Boyce and Lindsey Covell, both of White River Jct, Candy Bill of Enfield and Berlin, N.H. and Cindy Martin of Concord; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger Elery Sawyer of Liberty, S.C.; two sisters, Loretta Bell Maxham of South Royalton and Rose Lorraine Maxham of North Hartland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley J. Boyce; two brothers, Horace Alonzo Sawyer, Jr. and Alfred Lewis Sawyer.
