Owl Prowl – Snowshoe Nighttime Hike
Friday, February 21 2014, 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Whooo’s out there making raucous noises in the nighttime forest? Join a VINS educator to discover the amazing life of our wild nocturnal residents while snowshoeing through the woods of the VINS Nature Center. Whooo knows, maybe you’ll hear one! Owl Festival
Saturday, February 22 2014, 10:00am – 4:00pm
Included with admission to VINS Nature Center
Can owls see in the dark? How can they fly without making a sound? Give a hoot about owls and unravel their mysterious lives through hands-on activities and exciting games. Meet some of VINS’ owl ambassadors up close and discover what it’s like to care for an owl in our rehabilitation clinic. Wrap up the afternoon listening to owl tales around the fire while drinking hot chocolate. Visitors will receive a free Snowy Owl poster.
Dress warmly, as activities will take place both inside and out!

Winter Wine & Dine

Winter Hike (Adults 21+ only)
Celebrate winter in Vermont and explore the natural world as we hike the beautiful wooded trails at the VINS Nature Center. Learn how plants and animals survive the cold and discover some of the hidden secrets of the landscape. VINS is delighted to be working with the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm to provide you with an enjoyable evening complete with a delicious 3-course meal to end the evening.
5:15pm – Meet at the VINS Nature Center
5:15pm – 6:45pm Hike* on the trails at the VINS Nature Center.
7:00pm – 9:00pm Enjoy a 3-course meal at the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm.
*Depending on the snow conditions, we will snowshoe instead of hike. Please dress warmly,
