RANDOLPH — A memorial graveside service at the Methodist Cemetery in Barnard will be announced at a later date for Hazel Howard 70, who died March 2, at Gifford Medical Center. There will be no calling hours.
She was born May 25, 1943 in Poultney, daughter of Henry P. and Mildred (Wheeler) Howard.
She was raised in Poultney and East Randolph, and had also lived in South Royalton, Barnard, and Massachusetts and spent most her life in Randolph. The last six months she had lived at Riverbend in Chelsea, where she looked forward to lunch and dinnertime.
She had been a cook at the Third Branch Club House, and a member of the Howard Family Singers. She loved watching the Andy Griffith Show, The Price is Right, and Bill Gaither Gospel music on the television. She enjoyed reading, Christian music, and old Westerns.
Survivors include her brothers, Morris Howard and David Howard of Randolph, Andrew Howard of Reading, Kan. and Charles Howard of Huron, S.D. sisters, Jessie Sanchez of Portland, Maine, Rebecka Wood and Shirley Huggins, both of Randolph.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Howard.
