Staff Report

A basement flooded Sunday morning in Hartland due to the rain and melted snow.

The Hartland Volunteer Fire Department put about 20 town sandbags around the building to prevent more water from entering the basement at the apartment complex on Route 5, near the Yoga Center.

Fire Chief John Sanders said the flooding was minor. It was caused by a natural drainage problem.

“We’re hoping that people are OK,” Sanders said. “I think the road crew is busier than we are.”
