Staff report

POMFRET — Michael Reese has defeated Neil Lamson for a Selectboard seat, thwarting Lamson’s plan to unseat Reese.

Lamson, who resigned from another Selectboard seat Feb. 21, was attempting to oust Reese due to a disagreement over a public records request, according to a letter from Lamson. Reese won the three-year seat by a vote of 156 to 29, at Town Meeting Tuesday.

Becky Fielder also defeated incumbent Lynne Leavitt for the town clerk position in a 139-50 vote.

Reese was elected back in November to fill a seat vacated by interim Selectboard member Kevin Geiger, who was appointed in place of resigning Selectman Kevin Lessard. Reese’s seat was up for vote at Town Meeting.

Lamson has said he will not serve on the Selectboard with Reese.
