Student Conservation Association intern Mackenzie Harrington will lead two free afterschool explorations of our national parks at the Carriage Barn Visitor Center Thursday April 25 and Friday April 26 from 3 to 4pm. The programs, suitable for ages 3 to 14, will include hands-on activities and games, national park trivia and a slideshow.

Parks throughout the country are celebrating National Park Week with free admission and special programs. National Park Week 2014 invites visitors to “Go Wild” for history, nature, culture, wildlife, and fun in America’s national parks. Park visitors can Go Wild for waterfalls in Whiskeytown, John Muir’s birthday-Earth Day celebration, and Patriots Day activities in Minute Man, among many other things.

Additional information, including a list of National Park Week events nationwide can be found online at www.nationalparkweek.org. Check out the National Park Week video on YouTube.
