BRIDGEWATER — A celebration of life will be held April 5 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Grange Hall in Bridgewater Corners for Jane A. Murphy, 55, who died March 29 at the Mountain View Center in Rutland. You are encouraged to bring one of Jane’s favorite dishes and a good story.
Jane was born on Aug. 11, 1958 in Rutland, daughter of Raymond, Sr. and Winona (Blanchard) Kennedy.
Jane graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1975 and from the New England School of Hair Design in 1977.
She worked at the Book Bindery in West Woodstock, Zorbas in Killington, JR’s in Bridgewater, Jim and Zell’s Country Store, the Cole Farm Restaurant, and the Woodstock Inn.
Jane enjoyed playing cribbage and rummy, watching game shows, and reading.
She is survived by her parents of Bridgewater; one daughter Olivia and husband Jeff Aldrich, one son Francis Oldenburg and six grandchildren; Alex, Ashley, Brittany, Spencer, Isaac, and Curtis; one sister Ella and husband Tom Roberts, four brothers; Allan and wife Vicki Young, Bill and wife Victoria Young, Raymond, Jr. and wife Joni Kennedy, and Randy and wife Heather Kennedy; and her caregiver of the last 10 years Arden Carpenter.
Jane’s family is very thankful for the incredible care given to Jane by Elise Sawyer who not only helped with Jane’s care, but helped to make her smile.
