Staff Report

The police and highway crew will be monitoring the Ottauquechee River for flooding Tuesday and Wednesday as melted snow and rain water has caused high waters.

Town Manager Phil Swanson went over several different forecasts with the highway superintendent Tuesday morning.

“From what I’m getting from Vermont Emergency Management is that they expect more flooding in the northern part of Vermont,” he said.

The town and village haven’t had any flooding problems — so far.

“So far the ice has gone out without causing us major problem and I sure hope it keeps on that way,” Swanson said.
