KILLINGTON — A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 27 at 2 p.m. in the Riverside Cemetery in Killington for Brenda Hall Oney, 63, who died May 18 at the Mountain View Nursing Home in Rutland. There will be no calling hours.
Brenda was born on Dec. 5, 1950 in Pittsfield, daughter of H. Oscar and Florence (Taylor) Hall.
Brenda went to the Sherburne Valley School and then graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1969. She then graduated from the Rutland Business College in 1970.
She married John C. Oney Aug. 29, 1970.
She worked at the Sherburne Elementary School for 10 years as a café manager and for many years at the Midway Diner in Rutland.
Brenda volunteered at the Sherburne Fire Department, Sherburne Little League, and donated many hours to the cancer society and her church.
She is survived by two sons James and Adam; two grandsons Aidan and Jacob; two brothers Donald and Ted Hall; four sisters, Ada, Sheila, Shelly, and Janine; and her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by a sister, Gwen Hall; and two brothers Billy and Edward.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sherburne Fire Department or the Vermont Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.
