Join Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society on Thursday, May 29 at Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm for Paws for the Cause, a benefit dinner and auction to support the animals at the shelter. Help celebrate the 10th anniversary of this lively and uplifting event, and support one of the oldest continually operating no-kill humane societies in our nation.

As Lucy Mackenzie’s largest fundraiser, donations from Paws for the Cause will enable Lucy Mackenzie to provide a loving home and a high level of veterinary care for hundreds of animals this year. Once at the shelter, a unique matching program assures that each animal in our care will find a home best suited to his or her needs. In addition to helping provide a safe haven for animals in need, Lucy Mackenzie also offers a Kids Animal Camp, a Community Pet Food Shelf, Dog Training Classes, Seniors for Seniors, and Cruelty Response. These programs seek to prevent situations that often lead to surrenders or cruelty, and in the long-term, help to create a more stable humane community.

By attending Paws for the Cause, guests will enjoy dinner and drinks while making a difference to the life of an animal- and to the lives of those in our community. The silent and live auctions presented by Kingston Auction Company will offer an exciting opportunity to bid on unique experiences from spa packages to private parties and vacation getaways. Among other new and distinctive packages, live auction items will include: an African Photo Safari, a Trip to Tuscany, a Handcrafted 14-foot Adirondack Guide Boat, and a Stay at a Private House on Oahu.

Seating is limited, so those interested in attending are encouraged to purchase tickets early. Tickets are $65/person prior to the event, or $75/ person at the event. Tables for 10 may be reserved for $600 prior to the event.

To purchase tickets to Paws for the Cause or to inquire about silent and live auction items, please visit or contact Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society at or 802-484-5829.
