Counselor In Vermont Prison System, Served As Pastor In State
C. Alan Olsson, beloved husband, father and friend went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 3.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mae Olsson.
Born April 10, 1927 in St. Paul, Minnesota, a kind and gentle man of God, he attended Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota pastored churches in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Michigan throughout the years. In 1981 he moved to Vermont where he was a counselor in the Vermont prison system. In retirement he served as an Interim Pastor to churches in Vermont before moving permanently to Cape Cod.
A trip to Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee and a donut on the way to Lewis Bay to watch the boats come and go never got old. A talented singer, his love of music constantly filled his home. His faith in Christ, gentle spirit and steadfast love was much appreciated by his family and many others that his ministry touched throughout the years. He is also survived by his children, Bradley Olsson (Nikki), Beverly Olsson, Janice Adams, and Karen Dorn (Jeff), grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Gladys Olsson, his sister, Joy Anderson, and his bother Roger Olsson. A memorial service and celebration of a life well be held on Tuesday, July 22, at 1 p.m. at Morris, O’Connor & Blute, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA 02664.
