QUECHEE — A Quebec woman was critically injured when she and a friend were ejected from their motorcycle Sunday afternoon onto Route 4 near the Fat Hat Factory.
Diane Rachette, 57, was airlifted by a DHART medical helicopter from the intersection of Route 4 and Quechee Main Street shortly after 3 p.m. with what were described as “life threatening” trauma injuries.
The driver of the motorcycle, Roger Trembley, 58, of Quebec was also transported to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire by a ground ambulance. Witnesses said Trembley sustained abrasions and cuts to his face but his injuries were not believed to be serious.
Hartford police and medical personnel from the Hartford and Lebanon fire departments responded to the accident which happened at the intersection with Severance Drive when Trembley, who was headed westbound, apparently lost control of his 2013 Harley Davidson Road King when traffic ahead of him stopped, Hartford Police Sgt. Karl Ebbighausen reported.
