UPDATE: Names Of Suspects Released In Springfield Shooting

SPRINGFIELD-Police have arrested two people involved in Springfield shooting last night and they are questioning a third person.

Leon Jiggetts, 26, of Newark, New Jersey was arrested for attempted 2nd degree murder and burglary. Jabbar Chandler, 33, of Charlestown, New Hampshire turned himself into police in Charlestown and a 16-year-old male was questioned, according to Vermont State Police. The teenager’s case remains under investigation and charges may be forthcoming.

Jiggetts faces additional charges of sale of heroin, stemming from an ongoing Vermont Drug Task Force investigation. Vermont State Police detectives have applied for an arrest warrant for Chandler on charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and burglary, police said.

Joseph Atkinson, 19, of Springfield, is receiving medical treatment at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for a sustained a gunshot wound to the torso, police said.

Timothy Carleton, 30, of Springfield, and Amanda Booker, 24, of Springfield, were both treated and released from Springfield Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Jiggetts was lodged at Southern Correctional Facility for lack of $250,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at 12: 30 p.m. at the Windsor County Criminal Court.

There are no other details available at this time, according to police.
