Festivities begin early, with the 38th Annual John Langhans 7.1 Green Mile Road Race, Team Challenge & Kids Fun Run sponsored by The Spectrum Teen Center.
Runners, walkers and teams will enjoy the challenging course throughbeautiful Woodstock, starting and finishing at the Woodstock Village Green. The Kids Fun Run is a short loop around the Village Green. This year¹s Team
Challenge includes up to five members on a team, with a $100 entrance fee; team members solicit sponsors to raise money for a charity of their choice.

To register for the race as a runner or walker, register online at:; $30.00 for runners and walkers by July 3, 2014; $35.00 on race day (includes a cool t-shirt). Check-in/Same Day Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Runners, Walkers & Team Challenge start: 8:30 a.m.; Fun Run begins at 10:30 a.m.; no registration is necessary for fun run.
Post-race festivities will include music, division awards and an award for the most patriotic costume. The Kids Fun Run (ages 10 & under) is free and all kids will receive a finisher’s medal.

Billings Farm & Museum’s Old Vermont 4th Celebration begins at 10:00 a.m., featuring ice cream making, wagon rides, historic debate, flag making, spelling bee, and more.

The excitement continues at the Woodstock Union High School at 5:00 p.m. with games and activities for all ages, sponsored by VT Volunteer Services for Animals Humane Society & Purple Crayon Productions, with Change the
World Kids. The Spectrum Teen Center’s Cookout and Picnic will serve hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, sausage & peppers, drinks and desserts.
The evening¹s entertainment starts at 6:00 p.m. with Samirah Evans & Her Handsome Devils Band and the Woodstock Union High School Jazz/Funk band; music is sponsored by Pentangle Arts Council. Ice Skating for families at
the Union Arena Community Center starts at 6:00 p.m., adults: $5; seniors: $3; children ages 5-14: $4, ages 4 & under skate free. The Ora E. Paul American Legion Post and Boy Scout Troop 220 will perform a flag ceremony at
7:45 p.m.
Capping off the evening is the July 4th fireworks display ­ sponsored by the Town of Woodstock, with support from local businesses and organizations. For further information: 802/457-2500 or
