The office door handle at Pentangle Arts was damaged last night, leading staff to believe someone had tried to break in.
Woodstock Police Department Officer Kevin Wilson investigated the scene on Thursday around 11:30 a.m.
Nothing was missing in the office, said Pentangle Executive Director Gary Wood. Pentangle staff doesn’t keep money in the office and nothing valuable, except a couple of old computers.
The attempted break-in happened sometime after Wood left on Wednesday night at 10 p.m. and when staff members arrived at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.
An ipad and $300 cash went missing from Pentangle sometime in early July, but Wood said he thinks the iPad that is usually kept in the office desk drawer may have simply been “misplaced.”
The door handle still locks, but there are scrape marks on the door, as if someone had tried to pry the handle off, Wood said.
