DORCHESTER, N.H. — A memorial service will be held at Scottsville cemetery in Danby at a later date for Ella May (Baker) Barrows, who passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side on June 20.
Ella was the daughter of Frederick Baker Sr. and Dorothy (Hazelton) Baker. She was born June 22, 1951, in Danby, where she lived her childhood years.
Later she moved to New Hampshire where she met her husband, Joseph D. Barrows II. They married on July 2, 1971, settling in Rumney, New Hampshire.
Ella was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed the simple things of life. One of her greatest pleasures was being in the car with her husband going anywhere.
She leaves behind her husband Joseph of 43 years; and four children, Joseph D. Barrows III, Christopher Barrows, both of Dorchester, New Hampshire, Tanya Barrows (Karl Sanborn) of Bristol, and Lacy Barrows (Robert Sanborn) of Bridgewater; six grandchildren Benjamin, Samuel, Robert Sanborn, Mackenzie Gray, Dylan, Anthony Bucker; two sisters Nancy Buffum of Vermont and Joanne Holub of Loudon, New Hampshire; one brother Richard Baker of Enfield, New Hampshire; two cousins Ronny Baker and Rose McClure of Vermont and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers Frederick Baker Jr., and Gilbert Baker; and two brother-in-laws Carroll Buffum (VT) and James Holub (NH).
