NORWICH, Conn. — A memorial service was held June 21 at the Woodsville, New Hampshire Kingdom Hall and sent via radio to the Preston, Connecticut Congregation for Marian E. (Evie) Strout Northrup, 62, who died peacefully and unexpectedly at her home in Norwich on May 29. Burial will follow later at the Highland Cemetery in Lyme, New Hampshire.
She was born at home in Lyme, New Hampshire on Aug. 3, 1951, daughter of Gerald and Elizabeth Strout.
Marion is survived by her daughter, April Waters of Wells River; her granddaughters, Tiffany and Jessie Waters; her brothers, Harley Strout, North Hartland, James Strout, Orford, New Hampshire and Gene Strout, Washington; and her sister, Rose Rivera, Norwich, Connecticut; and nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
She was predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Francis and Leslie Strout.
Her greatest love was her bible study ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, an association with the Preston, Conn. Congregation. She also enjoyed playing guitar, singing and listening to country music and crocheting.
She worked at several restaurants, stores and as a housekeeper at several locations in the Upper Valley, Stowe area and most recently as a caregiver for the elderly in Norwich, Connecticut.
