Three Rescued From Water At Sumner Falls

HARTLAND-Three people were rescued from Sumner Falls off Route 5 in Hartland after being swept away by the current on Monday.

David Bolash, 20, who has Autism, jumped into the water as the three were getting ready to leave and was taken away by the current around 4:30 p.m., Vermont State Police said.

William Temple, 48, from Post Mills, Vermont and Kevin Hebert, 29, from Weare, New Hampshire, jumped in the water to rescue Bolash, from Grafton, New Hampshire, and all three were taken down the river.

Harland Volunteer Fire Department and Hartford Swift Water Rescue Squad along with Plainfield Fire Department, Cornish Fire and Rescue and Windsor Fire Department responded to the scene and recovered all three shortly after. There were no serious injuries.
