Come learn about Woodstock’s history and meet some of the village’s most fascinating past residents!

On Saturday, Aug. 23, from 6-8 p.m., the Woodstock History Center will be hosting a cemetery tour in Woodstock’s River Street Cemetery. This year the tour will feature seven personalities including a silversmith with a secret, a grave robber, a Civil War hero, and the doctor who first attended Phineas Gage (who was injured in a railroad construction accident in Cavendish, Vermont, and ended up making medical history).

Starting at 6 p.m., the tours will embark every 10 minutes from the entrance of River Street Cemetery, with the last tour departing at 7:20 p.m.

Admission is by donation, and the public is invited. For more information, please call the Woodstock History Center at (802) 457-1822.
