Kurt Weill’s Street Scene continues Opera North’s Young Artist Performance Series, presenting American operas with exceptional national talent. Awarded a Tony for Best Original Score in 1947, Street Scene is set on the doorstep of a tenement in Manhattan’s East Side in 1946. The production centers around two romances: the lovely young Rose Maurrant has fallen in love with her neighbor Sam Kaplan, while her mother Anna, is having an affair. The Opera North debut of this exciting and tragic New York story will be fully staged and feature the Opera North Orchestra.

Sunday, August 17, 2014 – 2:00 pm Matinee. All performances at the Lebanon Opera House
