SOUTH ROYALTON — A graveside funeral service was held Aug. 6, at the Strafford Cemetery for Shirley Mae (Hosmer) Paige, 70 who died July 29 at her home in South Royalton.
She was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Strafford, daughter of Gardner M. and Jessie E. (Perkins) Moses.
Shirley attended school in Tunbridge.
She lived most of her life in Tunbridge and surrounding towns in the area.
On Oct. 8, 1961, she married Harry E. Hosmer and they divorced in 1979.
For many years Shirley worked as a housekeeper at the Sunset Motel in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
On May 11, 2007, she married Albay Paige. He died on Dec. 19, 2007. In 2008, she moved and made her home at the Brightwood House in South Royalton.
Shirley loved gardening, fishing, crocheting, helping her neighbors, puzzles, flowers and attending the Friday night community dinners at the “Red Door” church in South Royalton.
She is survived by two daughters, Tina Swasey and Wanda Sanville both of South Royalton; three sons, Todd Hosmer of Northfield, Peter Hosmer of Tunbridge and Stuart Coburn of Corinth; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gardner Moses, Jr. and Richard Moses, Sr. both of Tunbridge; two sisters, Ruby Shute of South Ryegate, and Penny Russell of Tunbridge; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
