HARTLAND — In agreement with his wishes there will be no calling hours or services held for Arnold M. Mace, 85, who died Aug. 23 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in White River Junction on Sept. 8, 1928, son of Fred and Eva (Rule) Mace.
Arnold is survived by his children and their spouses, Kelly (Richard) Paul, Brett (Kara) Mace and Christy (John) Frink, all of Hartland; one brother, Forrest (Gladys) Mace of Lebanon, New Hampshire; and three sisters, Charlotte (Roy) Durkee of Thetford, Jessie (Vern) Miles of White River Junction and Joyce Davis of Barnet; seven grandchildren, Brett Mace, Jr. of Ascutney, Brian Mace of Hartland, John Frink, Jr. of Hartland, Tyler Frink of Hartland, Nicole LaBarge of White River Junction, Kristin Paul of Hartland and Cody Mace of Hartland; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Frink of Cornish, Braxton Mace of Windsor, Colin Mace of Ascutney and Emma Frink of Cornish, who were the apples of his eye; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Arnold was predeceased by his wife Sylvia Mace to whom he was married for 54 years and four brothers Fred Mace, Nathan Mace, Chester Mace and Gordon Mace; as well as two sisters Audrey Hadlock and Frances Mosher.
Arnold was a typical “Vermontah” who was a carpenter who could fix most anything and enjoyed his occasional ventures to Foxwoods casino.
