WEST RUTLAND – There will be no funeral services for Harry Sumner Withington Sr., 66, of West Rutland, who died Aug. 27 at his residence following a long illness.

He was born Feb. 18, 1948, in Bethel, son of Wilfred and Ola (Sumner) Withington.

Mr. Withington had been a longtime resident of West Rutland and had been employed by Patch-Wegner, Killington Wood Products and Ed Bruce at his sawmill.

Mr. Withington enjoyed listening to the scanner, sitting on the porch visiting with people and fishing.

Survivors include his former wife and caregiver Katherine Withington of West Rutland; three daughters, Marjorie Rousseau of Brandon, Melissa Withington of West Rutland and Amanda Withington of West Rutland; three sons, Harry Withington Jr. of North Clarendon, Kevin Withington of West Rutland and Michael Withington of Rutland; three sisters, Mary Page of Shrewsbury, Evola Campbell of Barnard and Jean Benoir of Bethel; three brothers, Eugene Withington of West Rutland, Edward Withington and Wayne Withington, both of Bethel; 11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Evans Withington.
