Locals on the Long Trail Jouney

Woodstock Union High School physical education teacher Jeff Thomas and his wife, Jill, recently completed the 273-mile Long Trail from the boarder of Massachusetts to Canada, including some serious climbs along the way. It took them three weeks and they traveled with their dog Zeke. The trio is shown here at Mount Mansfield. Jeff Thomas recalled, “In the South the big mountains were Glastenbury, Stratton, Bromley, and Killington. The weather was very wet and we now know why through hikers call Vermont “Vermud.” Photo Provided
