Ruth Marston
RUTLAND — A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of her family for Ruth C. (Barrup) Marston, who died Aug. 31 at Mountain View Center in Rutland.
She was born in Buckland, Massachusetts on Oct. 6, 1922 daughter of Forrest and Lillias (Brewer) Carpenter.
Ruth was a graduate of Adams High School in Adams, Massachusetts and the Bay Path Business School in Springfield, Massachusetts.
She was employed as a medical secretary at Springfield, Massachusetts Hospital and a secretary and claims representative at Connecticut General Life and Mass. Mutual in Springfield, Massachusetts. She later was employed as a legal secretary for the U.S. States Attorney in Rutland, Tuscon, Arizona and Tallahassee, Florida.
Surviving are a daughter Lynn Weeks of North Clarendon, a son Thomas Barrup of North Hampton, Massachusetts; two sisters, Althea Maynard of Savoy, Massachusetts and, five grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband Kenneth E. Barrup of Woodstock; and by her second husband, Donald C. L. Marston of Gainsville, Florida.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
