Long before standing as Vermont’s 2016 Gubernatorial Democratic Candidate, Sue Minter coached soccer. At a fund/awareness-raiser for Emerge Vermont, held under a tent, Sunday evening in Jane Curtis’s backyard, Sue Minter recalled that when she coached soccer for very young children, the teams were co-ed. “As two children ran for the ball,” she noticed, “girls would slow down and allow boys to reach the ball first.”Read more
Only 13 seconds remained in Saturday’s WUHS-Rutland lacrosse game. The game was well in hand for the Wasps who sported a nine-goal lead at the moment. And they were not looking to run up the score either, in a game they ultimately won 18-8.
(Woodstock is scheduled to start the playoffs Tuesday at home against Colchester at 4 p.m.)
The WUHS softball team brought out the big bats for its Senior Game with Hartford on Saturday. Woodstock belted three home runs, including a pair of back-to-back four-baggers in a big fourth inning. Combine that hitting with solid defense and strong pitching and Woodstock defeated Hartford by a 14-4 score.
The softball team is scheduled to start the playoffs at home Tuesday against Lake Region Union High School at 430 p.m.
Two bicyclists were airlifted to the hospital earlier today by the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART) after two separate crashes in the Killington Stage Race, according to the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department. WOODSTOCK – Proposed changes to town zoning regulations will be heard early next month after a May 3 Planning Commission meeting was left without a quorum to call that meeting to order.
Comments were taken from the audience, however, and copies of the proposed amendments were distributed.
Among them was a change to the zoning regulation regarding short-term rentals allowed for local homeowners offering rentals for guests, such as via AirBnB.
