The National Weather Service in Burlington is warning motorists throughout Windsor County about slippery road conditions that will intensify later today and into Saturday. The NWS Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. tonight to 4 p.m. Saturday, due to expected sleep, snow and freezing rain in the region. Limited visibility will also result. Motorists are warned to allow extra time if they have to travel. The full text of the NWS advisory is below:

SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES AND TREE DAMAGE ARE LIKELY DUE TO THE ICE. TRAVEL WILL BE HAZARDOUS. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO TWO INCHES AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH ARE EXPECTED. * WHERE… ORANGE, WESTERN RUTLAND, WINDSOR, AND EASTERN RUTLAND COUNTIES. * WHEN… FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 4 PM EST SATURDAY. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… BE PREPARED FOR ICY TRAVEL AND SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES.
