SOUTH ROYALTON — A graveside funeral service will be held later this spring at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph for Carlyne G. Durant, who died Feb. 26, 2018, at the Elm Wood Center Nursing Home in Claremont, New Hampshire.
She was born May 10, 1924, in Rochester, New Hampshire, daughter of Henry and Alice (Grassien) Baldwin.
She grew up in Rochester where she attended school.
On May 29, 1941, she married Harry E. Durant, Jr. They lived for many years in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area. Upon retirement they moved to South Royalton. Harry died Aug. 27, 2004.
She was a member of the Womans Relief Corps. In Farmington, New Hampshire, VFW Auxillary in White River Junciton, Woman’s Club in South Royalton, and the Ideal Rebeccas in Rochester, New Hampshire and Sharon.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and taking care of her dog.
She is survived by her good friends, Paul Amell of South Royalton and Mary Ayer of Sharon.
