JAG Productions presented “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill” this past weekend  at The Grange Theatre in Pomfret, Vermont. The play was written by Lanie Robertson and takes place in 1959 in a seedy bar in Philadelphia. Jazz Legend Billie Holiday is performing and takes the audience on a journey of Holiday’s life as a black woman in pre-civil rights America. Francesca Harper becomes Holiday in the 90 minute performance. Harper is accompanied by Nygel D. Robinson as Jimmy Powers the piano player. David Westphalen performs on upright bass and Jasper Williamson is the drummer.
